What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Steve, Thanks! I wish I could access the paper label but what is left of the sweatband is worth preserving. Your Stetson Open Road 4x is fantastic!

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Echter Borsalino possibly late 1920s early 1930s. I have no idea what this Soft Felt looked like originally. The felt is very thick and stiff which is not usually associated with Borsalino Soft Felts. I have no idea if this stiffness is a later result. The Sweatband was crumbling so I decided...

    The Resistol Roundup

Yes, Dobbs too. I am not sure or I can't remember who had the license. I agree many Americans after the WWII.. My friend that owns a hat store in Augsburg said the Stetson - Mayser Hats sold at a higher price so didn't sell well.

    The Resistol Roundup

Thank you! Mayser also made Stetson Hats under license starting in the mid 1950s.

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Stefan, Thanks! I haven't seen a non black Resistol Homburg Hat but my guess is they had them because Wegener had brown, gray and blue Homburg Hats. Could be that there were far less Resistol - Wegener Homburg Hats and black was by far the most common color. That's just a guess. :)

    Knox Boater Hat Mystery

The Hat Maker Kurt Wismer still makes Yeddo hats (Röhrlihüte). He is most likely the only one making them. :)
