I checked Moorer. Nope. Not a fan of nylon shell parka that makes you look like a Michelin man at all.
I am a leather jacket guy and if I can wear leather, I'll take leather over anything synthetic. Just my preference. I also prefer my clothes to have some weight in 'em. I don't understand the...
Indeed you are right. For me I bought it because it's damn warm and I think down feather parkas look hideous. So an aviator shearling would be the perfect balance that combines both coolness and warmth. I went the historic route because: 1/ fashion shearling jackets are outlandishly priced. 2/ I...
Possibly a bit colder than where I am. For me 18 mm is sufficient for anything below 0 to -10 Celsius. Beyond that I would definitely love to have 22mm.
Keep in my I'm a have a slim build. 188 cm and 75 kg, so not much meat or fat on me. I get cold easily as a result. Your mileage may differ. If...
Hi. Thanks again for that.
It depends how you want it to be, I guess. This is a B3, but the short length remindsd me a lot of some Irvins, which typically are shorter. And SB's customer care has been superb so far. So happy hunting if you want to take the SB route.
Hi everyone. Thanks for your help so far.
It's been extremely helpful.
here's an update regarding my correspondence with SB
I have sent my pictures and actual measurements of the jacket back to SB's production for evaluation.
They told me that the front was indeed increased in line with my...
I tried it on a few times. I usually notice immediately that someone is wearing a B3 and it makes me think of some bombing run leaving destruction. An ANJ wouldn't grab my attention the way a B3 would. If you think differently then I guess we just got different eyes.
Thank you!
I usually have problems with finding the right sleeve length as my arms are longer than average. Never had problems with jacket's length since my body proportions favor my limbs. When I opened this B3, I kept praying to myself that the sleeves would fit. Lo and behold, they fit just...
What kind of pants go well with engineer boots that aren't jeans? Thinking about getting meself a pair of engineer boots for this winter, but don't wanna wear jeans in freezing temps. Any recommendations for an alternative to jeans?
I like a closer fit and I can wear a wool shirt underneath as well or a cashmere jumper.
I like the fit just fine. Leather jackets should be slim fitted anyway. A bulky B3 jacket, from my own aethestic point of view, would make you extremely fat because: 1/ it's already a heavy jacket and 2/...
Just talked a bit with Ken from Aero. According to him, the front of my zipper is indeed about 1 to 1.5 inches shorter than it should be.
Looks like the front length of my jacket has a problem.
For what it's worth, if you're between the fence, here's how I see it:
The B3 is for looks, for the classic aviator image and for that WW 2 nostaglia.
The ANJ-4 is pure functionality and comfort. It doesn't quite have that WW 2 aviator looks since it was introduced late and people didn't...
hey DD, thanks for replying and the compliment
It's indeed an expensive piece so I expected perfection.
The short length is indeed a bummer so I'll try to contact the maker and see if we can work out something.
If it turns out to be too much of a hassle then I have no choice but to keep it...
Yup I got the horsehide trim for +75 pounds extra I believe. Aero gives you horsehide on the get-go.
And thanks for your compliment!
It is indeed slim fit compared to other makers outside. The pit to pit is only 53 cm for size 38, compared to Eastman's 58 cm for the same size. So this is g reat...
I said they were a great business to deal with, meaning the communication etc.
Receiving a short jacket is unfortunate, but I think such things are not rarities.
I seem to remember that in the past, even Aero made a jacket that ended up a little bit short for one lounger here.
Check this topic...
The collar is 22 mm!
I haven't worn it outside for too long yet (haven't removed the tag) but I tried a little bit in my balcony and garden in -5 degree midnight here in Czech Republic. I wore only a thin t-shirt and this thing alone is actually warmer than a thick t shirt+ a thick wool sweater...
