    that is exaclty it. I really don't want to poke holes in my hat, but if I cut the stem down im afraid the back won't grab. I have put a different pin on for now, with a shorter stem. Are the pinch/clutch backs not the best types of pin back to use? What else is there available?

    Do Avirex contract numbers mean anything relevant on their A-2 non-repro's? Is it emulating an actual old contract number or is it just an internal thing. CAS

    What did you buy for yourself this Christmas?

    A Penman beaver fedora, a Todd's custom Indy, a US Wings Signature goat Indy, and an Avirex A-2 to wear when I don't want to worry about my Schott. All were COW or Ebay finds. It was pretty amazing.

    I got my Schott 184 last year on the 'bay for 150.00. I was pretty stoked to find one that cheap in almost unworn condition in my size. You are right about the length, though. Im 5'10" and Id never owned a Schott before. My cheapie leather flight jacket was long enough but this one is cut right...
