I think I've gone a little hat-crazy the last couple of days. :D
I went to another vintage store yesterday; found an old Cavanagh in PRISTINE condition. Just had to buy it!
Damn, I need to stop buying hats....
Just aquired this Dobbs Twenty yesterday!
The felt is paper-thin and very moldable; I can put any bash I want on it. By far the lightest weight hat I own.
Yeah, I'm going to leave it as is, I really don't want to alter it; and it's the only thin ribbon I've got. So variety is always good. :)
I'll take some other pics tomorrow in the daylight. It's unlined, but I'm not sure if it was made that way or if the liner's missing. [huh]
But I'll get...
I hit up a vintage clothing store here, and look what I found!
Old Dobbs 20 that was still unbashed when I bought it! :D
I'm not sure it was ever worn; if it was it wasn't worn much at all.
There are a few moth nibbles, but other than that the hat's in fantastic condition; and for...
Thanks! I think that's about the best compliment I've ever received!:D
As soon as I've got some of my other hats in wearable condition, I'll break 'em out. I'm reblocking a couple now, and will most likely get the trimmings sewn on over the weekend. It'll be nice to wear them again; I've...
Decided to go with a better hat today.
My Society Club.
I love the hat, but it's a wee bit on the small side. My dad wears a smaller size than me, so I may pad it up and give it to him for fathers day. Although I really don't want to part with it. [huh]
Does anyone know anything about...
Possibly
Well, while I can't say there coming back, they're definitely more common here than they were a year ago. I started wearing hats last july and there wasn't a fedora in sight; I don't know if I started a local trend or what, but now you definitely see them alot more than you used to...
Yes! Thanks, that's pretty much the look I'm going for at the moment.
It's nice that someone actually put that together without me mentioning it for once! :)
haha, yes I came up with that line. That's the way I feel about it; I really think more people wish they could just break from the standard norm of a t-shirt and jeans, and wear something with a bit more class; they're just afraid to because it's not 'socially acceptable' anymore. I mean, I get...
Well, thank you!
Yes I made the hat; I bought some antique blocks off Ebay and a brim flange from an antique mall around here, and voila! You have the hat!
Though I didn't use the flange for that hat, just some creative forming of the brim to get it into shape.
I really have no Idea what I'm...
Thanks everyone for the warm reception! :)
I've been lurking around these boards for the last four months or so but could never sign up. I finally thought of using my work e-mail to register. :eusa_doh:

I feel a bit strange about saying this, kind of like I'm parading my...
Greetings,
This is my first post here!
First off let me say that all the hats in this thread are absolutely beautiful, I wish I owned them all!!
I started wearing fedoras last July, and it's rapidly become a happy addiction. I started out with just one, and now have nine...or was it eleven...
