What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Nice lines and color on this one! You've inspired me to excavate a hat that hasn't seen the light of day much since I acquired it.

    Texas Hatters

Seems like this thread could use another bump. I have always loved my Texas Hatters hats. I have a Cuenca straw bowler and a silver belly all beaver derby. Recently David Torres passed away, so thought it would be nice to see more work from him and his widow, Joella, if anyone has some. Hats...

    tonyb.....hatter and a gentleman

Still an all around favorite for me. It occasionally undergoes brim variations.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Symphony season has ended, and semesters are coming to a close= more hat posts from me, hopefully. It helps that the endless winter seems to have finally subsided, and spring has graced us for nearly two weeks so far (knock on wood). Here are my recently worn hattos. I miss the app. I don’t...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

That looks great. The swoop on the brim up really makes it work. I can’t even get brims to snap up with a good swoop— they always flip way up and look silly. Nice, Brent!

See above? Jack is still there-- my visit was fairly recent, just last July.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Confession: I haven’t been wearing a lot of brimmed hats. It’s too darned cold and snowy and this winter has been relentless up here; certainly for a lot of us. But I did wear this beaver brand American Legend series hat a bit inside today. I reshaped and re-fit it a bit, and just the other day...

Hey Perry-- that hat is wonderful! So is the band, and the sweater. Nice work!

    Artwork Featuring Hats

Found this antiquing the other day, along with a beautiful horsehair band. Just what my dining room needed, can’t read the artist’s signature.

Oh, wow. Dark moss just sings in any environment. So versatile. That’s a super one, Brent. So is another in the works from Gannon?

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

As for the facial hair— how do those of you with moustaches have the patience? I liked the look, but couldn’t eat, drink, or kiss without painful pulls on the upper lip! So off it went. Sure worked with the Clearwater derby though!

That’s a really great pattern on that cap, @Blare and you wear it so naturally. Super nice. I haven’t been able to post much recently, lots going on around here, but here’s a smattering of some of my recent favorites.

Weather Hats, Belle Fourche, South Dakota

I need to look into that. While I spend a good deal of time in the Black Hills, I don't know a thing about Belle Fourche.

Weather Hats, Belle Fourche, South Dakota

One of my favorite things about Jack is that in addition to the "usual" creases-- and the biggest sellers such as the cattleman-- he likes to get creative with his creases and ribbons. Particularly in the telescopic crowns, you will find shapes such as hearts, steer heads, spirals/swirls...

    Western, anyone?

Thanks! If you couldn’t tell already, that’s Jack on the liner, and his late dog.

    Western, anyone?

I wanted to post separately about a primarily western custom hatter I found in rural western SD last week. Jack at Weather Hats does some really great work, and I love that he gets creative with ribbons and creases— totally legit, and he doesn’t jump to grumpily putting down other hatters’...
