I'm trying to downsize my collection but this one looked too unique to pass up. The photos were real shoddy and the seller didn't seem to have much of a clue but it looks to be a 1940s fedora made by Hulbert (40s based on the look of the sweatband and liner). I could only find one mention of this hat maker on the Lounge (with broken photo links) so this fellow is even more mysterious. The seller does accept returns so what the hey.
The listing specified the color as brown.
What I am hoping is that this hat will be an addition to my small collection of genuine 1940s "adventure" fedoras (of course, Indiana Jones associations are intentional). Here are my other two, and I love them both, so I'm hoping for a hat trick

It’s my size, my team and could be awesome for StingyMas, so I thought to myself “go deep”*, but the hat was knocked out of my hands right at the 100 dollar line.
* (go deep is relative and for a guy who buys $13 hats, well, that was deep)

I’m sure it was to “Fred & Freda” who ended up winning it. It had a BIN of $750. I just couldn’t stay in the fight after the past week or so of hat purchases.

It was cool, but I would probably have been relegated to only wearing it while watching the game on TV.
It's been a bit of a struggle getting her acceptance, but after I covered many of our expenses with my "side gig" last year she asks fewer questions -- and I can sneak a keeper or two in.
Opening all of those boxes of hats is about as much fun as you can have (with your clothes on at least).

Me too.....she did not mind another arriving yesterday but....pretty sure I would be in one of those boxes, this time being shipped somewhere else.....

A funny story: I found a modern felt homburg for sale online. All the photos of the hat were as expected except the last that showed the inside of the hat. That photo was of a course Brisa weave Panama hat. I assumed the seller mixed up photos and included a different hat for the last photo. I brought the issues to their attention. Here’s the conversation:
