See, that's why I like them same as belts. You can get great colour schemes and basically, you get so much bang for the buck!

And on storebrands, it's getting ridiculous. :p

I’m more of a leather Western guy (lifestyle) but every once in a while something Victorian catches my eye. Check out these 1898 Sterling Silver suspenders buckles with chain & pulley. Monogrammed & dated Christmas Day, they must have been a gift.

This seems to be a good place to get an opinion. I looking at the following options of 1940s style Albert Thurston braces as my first pair as they are available at a reasonable price point where I live. They are to pair with a taupe linen suit, white or blue shirt, navy or burgundy tie and dark brown shoes. I feel the most natural choice is the pair with the burgundy/beige stripe bur the leather ends are a lighter brown than the other 2 and I feel won’t work with my dark shoes. Please see photos. If you feel an entirely other option would work, I’d be interested in your thoughts.

Option 1 for me. It's more important to me that the leather match ends match the suit and though they are lighter than the shoes, they're both still tones of brown.

Yes, I agree. Match the leather first, then (if there's a chance they will be on view) think about toning the colour of the straps in with the rest of the intended outfit. Over the years I've had a few pairs of braces that have identical band colours / patterns, but different leather end colours.

The Platte Valley Saddle Shop, Kearney NE was founded 83 yrs ago making custom saddles, tack & leather accessories. Today the second generation is in their 70’s & have slowed down to making custom saddles only. Their items have become highly collectible & sought after.

These suspenders are interchangeable in that the mustaches can be removed & replaced with scissor snaps for a more casual look.
