Your "significant" jacket?

Hi All,
I don't post often but have been checking the forum quite a few times a day for a few years.
I wonder how many of us have purchased "significant" jackets - ones that made a real difference to our future purchases, style appreciation, shifted our jacket interests etc.?
For example, for many years I bought only brown jackets (A2s, 1950s halfbelts ...). Then I saw a rather low quality, black (!), crosszip (!!) motorcycle jacket (!!!) in a charity shop. Very cheap. I tried it on, looked in a mirror and thought I looked "very different"/ "weird" etc.
I didn't buy it but after a night's deliberation (mostly about the size and number of zips!)... I went back and bought it.
Since then I've bought more black motorcycle jackets ("vintage") I like 'em. (though I'm not a motorcyclist). Also black jackets of other vintages. So that cheap, low quality black jacket, which I still wear sometimes, was significant!
Anyone else had a significant jacket?

My most significant jacket is my Freewheeler Caboose jacket. This was the one that truly made me fall in love with Freewheelers jackets. Four out of my 5 leather jackets are from Freewheelers and all five are made in Japan.

I remember seeing this picture when I was first looking at Aero's website a few years ago, this is on there right? I thought: damn that's a badass look.

I have quite a few actually... I tend to plan my jackets for quite some time, so in a way most of them had an influence. And quite a few incoming will also be significant.

But if I would have to make a choice, I would think of this one for making me fall in love with moose hide

While I already knew that Thedi leathers's Theodoros was a creative genius, I didn't know to which extent until I put my hands on this jacket

And then there is this one that made me realise that I like 70s style jackets

I could easily go on with many more, but I will stop here

Im still freaking jealous of that green Moose. I love Moose it tends to big very very thick but very light comparatively and spongey. Breaks in so nice.

A significant jacket for me would have to be my Aero Bootlegger.

This was my first cross zip and if not for this jacket I probably would not have any cross zips at all. I had always wanted one but I considered that style to be a little too edgy for me. I don’t ride a motorcycle and not a rockstar so I thought that meant that these were off-limits.
Since the Bootlegger has more of a low-key classic vibe to it I was able to ease into the style. Fast forward a few years and I now own a number of cross zips.

Tan buffalo as well, it is showing a bit darker than it really is in this pic. It did darken significantly after a heatwave in London. I was on the motorbike for long hours in days with temps over 30c.

Theodoros was happy to see how it had aged when I went back to the shop the second time

I'm freakin' in love with my new lightweight Nappa leather blouson! And I'm wearing the heck out of it, actually. It's comfortable, lightweight, black as night.

Robert DeNiro on Ronin, THAT'S what I love on black leather jackets!

And I wore turtleneck shirts under jacket, long before it was cool!!
