Hi GWD,

I've got a black 47L or 48L pea coat, DB, 4x1, wool, dated 1950. It is NOT knee-length but longer than a normal suit coat. Pretty heavy. Condition is approximately excellent.

That's the closest I have. It's too big for me as I wear a 42L or 44L.

If you're interested, make an offer.

Still Looking

The largest vintage Peacoat I've seen is a 44. I'm beginning to loose hope. Would a size 48 be asking too much during this era?

Never say never....

...but a 48L is tall order (sorry, couldn't resist the pun). I wear a 42R and had the darndest time finding a WW2 peacoat that would fit. Have you considered a later patern one?

Theres a stock of them floating around Tennessee somewhere, but just recently the trail has gone cold. A good friend of mine had gotten a ww2 pea coat in Manly size (44) and said there were several at this surplus store in his home town that range from size 44-52 all ww2 dated. Unfortunately when I talked to him saturday (he had gone home for xmas) he said that the surplus store had closed its doors for good. :(
