wtb: your hat, around size 7 5/8", with some wear

Howdy all,

I am looking for a hat to wear this summer while traveling cross country, and casting up the rivers. I rarely buy brand new anything, so I am for a hat with some good, even hard wear. As long as it is close to a size 7 5/8" and the brim at least 2" I am interested. I would prefer something light in color and a bit moldable, but beggars can't be choosers. If you don't mind, reply to thread instead of pm'ing first, the inbox gets filled quickly

thanks for helping

Are you looking for felt or straw?

I ask, as I have a poly straw that seems too small for my 7-3/4 noggin these days - it would be a good fishing hat.

I have a smallish 7 3/4, Resistol San Antonio, silver belly, 2 5/8" brim, replaced sweat by www.cleanahat.com. Not pristine but plenty of good wear left.
$85 shipped CONUS.

Thanks for replying fellas, I will PM. (cleaned out my inbox)

BTW, the poly straw I mentioned is a Joe Fedora, size XL originally purchased from Noggintops, also available from Orvis. Let me know if interested.

Still looking folks. Sorry for taking so long to get back to folks who offered hats, but things came up that made buying hats impossible. Somehow all of my older PMs were deleted, so when I came back recently to return to a few offers I could not do so. So, anything from 7 1/2" - 7 5/8" out there collecting dust? I am a big fan of silver belly

I have a vintage Borsalino made of classy beaver felt, that has no size indicator, but it's between a 7 5/8 and a 7 3/4.

Here it is:

I have a safari/outback style Akubra Riverina that has seem some serious hard wear that has been retired.
It is a 60 but stretched some to fit my 24" noggin. May have pulled back some since sitting in a box for a couple of years.

(this isn't the first thread like this I have started but the forum locks your posts within a few days, so I cannot edit. What if I change my mind? So I make another)

Still have hat described below, Akubra Riverina, also have a very experienced Open Road that has been to Optimo for refurb.
What are you looking to spend?

You ask these questions but never reply to folks that respond so I don't take you serious.

Sorry if I didn't get back to you last time it was not intentional, I think we were actually talking back and forth twice before about two different hats. My inbox often fills up and I miss out on some people messages, also after a bit of a internet hiatus I came back to TFL and found my inbox was nearly emptied.

I do not know if it was a change that happened during my absence, or if I just do not know how to use the newer system of messaging, but I cannot find any of the messages that I was saving, yours included that were informative or important to me. So any advice, knowledge, or offers are lost. Maybe it was again the work of a MOD, things seem to get moved around here a good bit, but for some reason allowing posts to remain unlocked is impossible.

Thanks to the fine folks here who pm'd and have helped me get a hat on my head from this thread. Sorry to the two gents above that I did not reply to. I just figured out that I can subscribe to my own posts so that it notifies me when someone has responded.

Still on the hunt, to the folks that are still listening
