WTB: Vanson Chopper, Medium

Messages

Looking to get all three jackets from my dream jacket list so let's start with Vanson Chopper, size Medium or possibly Small. 40/38 should be perfect. Maybe 42 if these run smaller. Dunno for sure.

Red, quilted liner is a huge plus but I'll be happy with any.

Heavier, the better.

What is pretty much essential is that the jacket is located in the European Union as that saves me tons of monies I'd otherwise have to waste on shipping and customs / taxes and overall simplifies things a lot.
I know how much this narrows down my chances of ever owning one but hey, at least I get to know. :)

Thanks y'all!

Not quite relevant, but did you check out that eBay Bates from 1994? It’s 44 so it’s larger than your size but thought you’d check it out since you like Bates :)

here's one:

https://www.leboncoin.fr/vetements/1797852899.htm

A bit expensive, in my opinion, and the seller doesn't know what he's talking about, but I suppose the price can be negociated. plus, it's in Europe...

I like this one a lot! But sellers on leboncoin don't ship international and I don't know any French so can't ask them...

Otherwise, it's pretty perfect w/ top sleeve zippers and a coin pocket. Anyone wanna help me out? :D

Mine is a 42 and i think that with your recent weight loss it would be too big.

I wanted to ask you first but I recall you mentioning the P2P on yours is like 24" or something close so yeah, that really wouldn't fit me any good.

That'd be a tent on me plus I'm really after a Chopper. I have a Schott 613 which is pretty much the same jacket so that style's taken care of. :)

I hear you. But everytime I watch T1 I can't help but searching for a HWM and this is a nice nos vintage, except bates just don't command this money.

Re. Chopper, wheels are in motion.

Ditto! :D And that mid back stitch, too... I've convinced myself that I absolutely must track down one without it which really simplifies things for me as I know for a fact I'll never find it. :D

I should've gotten the T2 jacket when it was still a mere $1700 instead of twice as much. Lol!

Bottom hem: 20.5” (on second to tightest adjustment hole)
Shoulders: 20.5"
Arms length:26.5”

Unfortunately, the Chopper in France has been sold so I'm back to square one. Shoutout to Mandarin for helping me out.

So yeah, still looking!

Let's broaden the search toward any very heavy, stylish cross zip like the Chopper. Can be padded. Just something quality, like padded Cal I idiotically sold. Something cool like that is fine, too.

Having owned both a Medium Chopper and a 42, I would say a stock Medium should fit you perfectly if you're a 38/40. If your'e a broad shouldered upper end of 40 pushing close to 42 , but semi thin waisted like 31/32 jeans, the Chopper might be a no go as it was for me. The size jump from Medium to 42 chopper results in a very long back length and wide bottom hem. Though the chest and shoulders fit well.

I just listed my Branded Cross Zip CHP. But, got to figure out international shipping. I think we close to same size. But it's pretty basic design, no flare really.

Sounds very close to how I am now, though I'm not really sure at the moment myself... But I'm still 40-ish in the shoulders, which I know because my Schott 613 42 fits me great, except the super roomy waist. I'm 30/32 in jeans. I'm guessing an M would work, right?
I know I can't expect it to fit perfectly either way but I would want the jacket to be in my size. For once. :)

That one's really cool but at 23" P2P, it'd be way too big and I already got a CAL in the same style... Which is why I'm after something that's a bit over the top. Chopper just checks out many boxes in that regard.

did you happen to see this?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-Vanso...089126?hash=item28a48851e6:g:SUgAAOSwZGxf16H4

I had a size 36 chopper and it fit me minus the arms being too short, and I'm typically a 38. So this may be a viable option if they'll ship internationally for you!

I did, and thanks, but I have to add $150 - $300 on anything I get from the US so I'm not even taking into consideration anything overseas, if it's not at 1/3 of the price. I have to hunt for something EU. There used to be quite a few Vanson dealerships here and I know of at least one store that was regularly getting the Chopper jacket so something's gotta turn up. :)
