I have an original Vanson belt for a 38 size Vanson.

I wonder if it would work on a 42 jacket maybe? Trying to figure out the best way to find out. Do you think it has enough length to cover 40-41" of circumference over the jacket and be able to buckle?

This one is 41" long from the buckle to the last hole, 2" wide.

you could also check ebay for a "Sam Browne" belt.. there are a few available at about $30

Have you considered just making your own belt? It's not that hard, especially if you use snaps instead of stitching for the buckle end. And there are all kinds of buckles, to match your jacket.
