Prefer nice condition unreeded sweatband with solid stitching, no damage to felt, >= 2.5" brim, 7 1/4+ (just under 23"). Either liner or unlined with tip. I have hats I would consider trading. Not looking for dark-gray or stretchable 7 1/8.

These must be rarer than I thought - not even one response or PM.

So true, it took me a long time to find a black fedora with at least a 2 1/2 inch brim that was vintage. I finally had Steve Delk "Adventurebilt" make me a custom one. After I had ordered it I found a Black Borsalino on ebay that was exactly what I was looking for. I went ahead and bought it anyway just because I knew they were hard to find. I have never been able to understand what the deal is. Was the color just not very popular and not many sold?
Good luck in your search.

I find them every now and then, but they are always 7 1/8 or smaller. It could be that they were worn until they fell apart.

eBay is full of black hats..there are so many it is annoying.

I have a very particular style of black hat that I like to wear during the Winter - I have one, but it's 100% wool. It would be odd after all the beautiful felt hats I've handled, to go back to wool this Winter, but it's a good functional hat.
