Here are a pair of wool felt hats. The black one is particularly appropriate for a musician to wear on stage. The Aussie is just sort of a wild card.

I think the size of the wool felts might be more accurately called XL and they would be described as size 7 1/2 to 7 5/8.

This might be just what you are looking for, Alexi.

I am originally from Kentucky, so I am familiar with Appalachian hats.

Here are a couple of nice premium rabbit felt fedora hats (I called them Campaign hats in the listing because they resemble the ones issued to the US Army around 1900.) The Hat With The Star is probably the one I recommend as the better of the two.
