wondering if I should renovate my old leather jacket

my old leather jacket appears very briefly in our new film around 1.10 mins ..its got red piping on the sleeves and on the two front pockets (which go inwards-like for motocyclists) The lining is like a mushroom coloured felt fitted/darts)with a tartan yoke and the zippers have the name 'Lightening' it looks 50s to me at a guess . The sleeve needs completely restitching and the main zipper works- but then opens mid way like the teeth dont hold it closed ...so it needs a pro' to sort it and Im just wondering if anyone would know if its worth doing .

That is a cool looking jacket for sure. Is the leather in good shape? If so, then I would have the zipper repaired or replaced and the stitching redone. This will almost certainly cost less time and money than finding another cool vintage jacket that fits well.

Thanks, Its really good leather .......Im going to take it to a guy next week and see if he can do it for me . If anyone ever sees a similar one , I would love to know the make . I bought it years ago in a bootsale here in Pembrokeshire ........so its probably uk made , but that's only cos I found it here .(though, there used to be an air base just up the road in the 40s and 50s so it could be U.S) Either way I think youre right and Im going to get it done . thanks.
