Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot review

I just found out they are making the Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot here in my hometown.
Pretty cool.

That is very cool.

After a few days use I gave them a couple heavy coats of Obenauf LP. Here's a before after shot with one boot oiled and the other as it was on arrival (the darker one is the oiled one)

Those I do like. Look like (depending on how light the lighter panels are) a great boot for Summer, at least, or year round.

Ha, that's exactly where my mind went too! Mind you, I am planning to take a "holiday" in Northampton some year, purely to trawl round all the factory outlets there....

They're not lined so they work well for summer. For winter they're fine as long as it isn't too cold and there isn't any ice/snow. Ice and snow demand a rubber sole IMO.

No we don't have an outlet here. It's made by Addison Shoe Co.
The factory has been here since the 50s. It almost closed
A few years ago but is doing real well now.

You guys might want to jump on the current sale at Ruze Shoes $164.99 for $380 Wolverine 100 Addision 2 tone Black and Tan boots. Lots of sizes left after I just bought a pair.

Alas they caught the mistake and raised them back up to 229.95. They also had some of the very rare blue and tan Addisons for the few that got in on the sale.

I recently had a good warranty experience with Wolverine. After about a year and a lot of walking, the sole of my 1,000 Mile Krause boots separated near the left toe. I contacted Wolverine about re-soling options. It turns out they don't re-sole boots, but they sent me a new pair under warranty.

Yeah, they fit the same as the regular 1000 Mile Boots. I picked them up at Nordy's at that price.. a killer deal!

They opened a Wolverine store in Bristol which appeared to sell very few boots / shoes by Wolverine & lots of IMHO cheap brands. Went passed there today & it had closed down...can't say I'm surprised!!

Those two-tone Addison wingtips are beautiful, I know what my next pair of boots is going to be (provided they offer them in my size).

I just got a pair of those McCleans. They are very similar to the Krause, which is what I was hoping for except in brown. I don't understand the rust color myself. At first glance, I really like them!
I wish they'd used brown stitching instead of white! The other noticeable difference is the welt. The Krause has a full on Goodyear welt all around the sole. These McCleans don't have that. We'll see how they wear.

Got some new Wolverine 1000 Mile Addison boots today! Glad to have another pair and looking forward to getting some wear on these! I was initially worried the 2-tone would be “too much” but so far so good!
