Windward, questions about condition and repairs

I recently picked this Windward up and gave it a treatment of Pecards. It has had a (bad) repair done to the collar so I'm wondering if it may have been re-dyed when that was done...although the thread doesn't appear to have taken a color. Or maybe it just wasn't worn that much? Would it be worth sending to Leather Care for a possible fix of the collar? Would love to hear your thoughts

I don't see the damage to the collar. This is most likely the original color, not a re-dye. mid 50s vintage.

Thank you both for the information! Here is a better picture of the collar and some of the fit... Which I'm thinking is just a touch too small.

What a killer Windward!!! This is my favorite style! It looks to me like that pucker on the collar is the result of a burn. I wouldn’t give it a second thought.

To my eye the fit looks superb!

I’d agree with @ton312 . I just got the same jacket but with a mouton collar and love it more everyday. The fit looks spot on to me. And I suspect once you start wearing it the collar won’t bother you. Congrats looks amazing!
