Okay. This weekend I'm doing a diner trip to Winchester. Anybody know any hat stores there? Vintage clothing stores? Cool places in general?

Are you going to Winchester or Richmond? They're in different parts of the state.

Did I honestly just type in Richmond? I guess I did.
It's definately Winchester.

It's been a while since I've been there, so I don't remember specific shops. There are a ton of antique stores, which are sometimes good for hats and occationally clothing. Downtown Winchester has a pretty nice pedestrian old town area that you should definitely take a stroll down. Nice place to sit on a bench and smoke one's pipe.

The shoe store there (at least as of a year and a half ago) had deadstock American made chucks. the old ones. I bought a pair, loved them, but within three or four months, I wore through the rubber in the sole and toes. Oh well.

I'll google antique stores. see what I find.
