I have to admit that I am one of those "bookish lumberjacks" who crowd the cat house. But I cannot see spending four times the amount on clothes to "look" vintage.

In this regard all I have to do is what I normally do. Bathe once a month and wash my clothes every year or two.

- Grandpa did not wear cargo pants
- Grandpa would not wear $245 fake Levis
- Grandpa, though I never knew him, probably would have worn Dickies or something similar since one was a carpenter and one ran a trucking business.

Introducing haute Americana, one of the most powerful—and paradoxical—forces in men's sportswear. Until recently, men like Leung would've skipped the Woolrich for a skinny Dior suit. But in recent years a number of tastemakers, many foreign, have dedicated themselves to reviving iconic American clothing for a hip new audience.

That just weirds me out. $500 for a wool jacket you could get at a goodwill in the midwest for $4?

Whatever.
