Recently saw a photograph from Cairo during the 1940's in which a few men have white satin lapel facings on black double breasted jackets. Has anyone heard of this before, or was it a strange Egyptian fad? The gentlemen wearing it appear to be Egyptians as opposed to expats (who also appear in the photo but wearing more standard DJs!)
