Which pants get the "Logger Buttons"?

What kind of pants do you put the 'Batchelor Buttons","Logger Buttons" on.
Do you just put them casuals or only khakis or do you even put them on the nice trousers you pair with a blazer. I have a pair of Goodwill bought Pery Ellis slacks that are super high waisted and I want to wear them with braces but I don't feel like going through the whole thing of sewing buttons. Would it be acceptable to just put "logger buttons" on them?

Just sew the buttons. It's really not that difficult or time-consuming.

I would prefer these buttons on casual/working clothes like denim, khaki, etc.
For a nice pair of trousers take the time to sew on proper buttons.
