Hi, loungers!

I am a big fan of vintage leather jackets, especially ones with extra-ornaments & embroidery.

I've always wanted a leather jacket with vintage-font letter embroidery. (or vintage painting on a jacket as shown above)

But these types of jackets are hard to come by nowadays.

I just don't know where to go.

Is there anyone who has experience with these type of custom jackets?

And if so, please share your experience on this thread!

Thanks a million.

I didn't know that Bates leathers made all those famous leather jackets! I'm thinking of getting their T2 jacket at some point in my life. Definitely on my wish-list now.

I wanted a t2 but, im going to have them do a standard cafe style jacket. The owner was very nice to talk to on the phone and very informative. Ive heard horror stories about their wait which is why i didnt order from them this time. When i do order from them i wont be in a bind and getting a riding jacket wont be critical since i had sold off both my riding jackets over the winter. Langlitz was able to quote me a reasonable time frame so i went with them and believe me, no regrets whatsoever on that decision. Ill own a custom bates one day, but, if it has to be on their timeline, i have to make sure my skin is safe while i wait.

Thanks for the info. I do have one langlitz and they are solid. Great jacket. The only minor gripe with stock Langlitz is that their sleeve length is a tad long.

Do you ride? The extra length is great if you do. They made my sleeves extra long because its a little bit of a reach to the tall bars.

I am planning to, but I don't ride.

I heard that long sleeves are essential if you ride.

My friend who rides HD always puts extra length on the sleeve when he does a custom jacket.

But for those who don't ride and wear'em for casual purposes, I think, long sleeves make it less cool.

Anyway, you can always make'em short. So, no problemo at all. =)

If you want to ride, go get a cheap bike and just do it. I see 3-400$ bikes on craigslist all the time. I love my hd, but when im on it, i dont think about what im on. I would be happy on anything with 2 wheels just getting out in the wind. Heck, i would be good with a scooter or moped.

That's the spirit.

I think one of the mistakes one can make when entering the world of a motorcycle is that you become so conscious of how you look.

But just as you mentioned, Riding a bike is not about showing off how expensive bike you ride. It's about enjoying every moment that you spend on the road.

I really should get a bike and start riding it...
