What's it worth 20yo Borso Alessandria 7 5/8

I bought this hat about 20 years ago in Ft Worth & am considering put it up for auction in the Classifieds. It is in good but worn shape, some water marks on liner due to a rain storm or 2 & some smudges on brim binding but nothing that a good cleaning wouldn't cure. It is Silver Belly but looks more tan than my Stetson SB's. It has a 2.5" brim, size 7 5/8 or 61. I know new ones are listed retail for $295. I wouldn't consider selling it for under $200. Am I off target?
TIA...

A hat is worth what people will pay for it. While it is true that a vintage Borso in such a large size might get you $200, it could easily go for more or less on eBay, depending upon all sorts of variables (bidding war, whether that slightly darker spot in the pinch is moth damage or just shadow/dust, etc.). Here, if you post it and someone snaps it up while others post that they wish they would have seen it sooner, you'll regret the low price. If you post it too high, you can always reduce the price after a time.

Whatever it's worth, don't compare it with new Borsos. It's different and better.

Thanks Lefty.
Yea, I'm aware of whatever the market will bare & also how winning an auction on OFAS is sometime more of a driver than value of the item. I've sold some western hats there & had better hats bring less than others. Being a fedora, I'd rather do an auction here & trying to see if my mindset was on track...
