What's For Breakfast...

He got a like from me. And post Easter, I could've said that line every day last week.

How goes the heel healing - hopefully, you're much better.
I did notice the “like.”
I am doing much better, thank you. I call it my “Frankenfoot” as it does not look like its old self or its neighbor. It hurts, but it functions more as a foot than a lump now. Feeling is coming back to certain areas and I am getting most of the toes to do what they are supposed to do. I remind myself that progress is being made and that I just need to be patient.

Glad things are moving in the right direction. My girlfriend broke two toes (clean breaks, no shattering of the heel like you) several years back and that was a long and painful recovery, which is why I can't even imagine what you are going through.

Thank you for your concern. It is really annoying, but it could have been much worse. I got lucky. They discovered that I also broke a couple of toes as well. They did not heal the way they should have. Happily, I have been able to force them into working. Swimming/walking in the pool is helping.

Ha! That was Easter Sunday.... I imagine it sounded like a lot of folks that day.

This morning I had chorizo and scrambled egg tacos. No chocolate was involved. Although if there had been any left in the house there may well have been.

We are alike, I was over-eating chocolate for days post Easter and only stopped because we ran out of Easter candy.

I feel like I may have missed the details of an adventure...and I apologize...but it sounds like, while memorable, it may not have been a particularly good one. My sympathies for the broken parts. I doubt chocolate for breakfast will do much for it, but ice cold beer might, so indulge and take care of yourself my friend.

Thank you. Fell off a roof before Thanksgiving and landed heel first on concrete. Shattered heel moved around and a couple of broken toes. Surgery. Knee scooter. Kind of been walking since sometime March. Finally kind of walking with shoes on both feet. Progress is happening and ice cold beer, Bacon, and the ocean really help.

Wow! So sorry about your mishap. I was feeling pain just reading your post. Beer, bacon and the ocean seem a proper prescription.

Wow! Sorry to hear about that. Glad you're on the mend and I hope it continues. I survived a pretty unpleasant break about a dozen years ago, and I lived through it, but it still gives me grief from time to time. Best of luck with it.

This morning was one of those unfortunate ones, where I woke up late and hit the ground running with only a cup of coffee. I did break for an early lunch about 10:30, though, and made up for the lack of breakfast with a sack full of tacos from the Bell.

Thank you. I am definitely improving and pretty stoked about it. There supposedly will be lifelong pain, but at least I can walk again.

Eggs, green chile, potatoes, turkey bacon on a soft whole wheat tortilla.

So today is Cinco de Mayo. Mrs. Hawk and I went down to a local Mexican place, which has a brunch, but we ordered off the menu. Migas, beef empanadas, and spicy pork tacos with pickled onions. Black beans and some spicy potato things on the side. And guacamole because...well, fresh guacamole is one of the reasons to stay alive. And margaritas. Real ones, not the kind out of a mix. Sat outside in beautiful 75 degree weather. It’s 12:30 and I need a nap, which is good because the Astros are playing in Mexico later today. I have to pace myself.
