I just finished watching that "Hitchcock" movie from 2012. Not bad. I reckon it could've been longer and more detailed, though. There were elements about the film which weren't there which I think would've improved it.

So my 15 year old daughter walks into the room tonight and asks me if I want to watch a Humphrey Bogart movie. I love it! Out comes Bogey and Ida Lupino in "High Sierra."

I have the house to myself tonight. So I'm going on a Hitchcock Kick. I have lined up two films to watch: "Rear Window", and "The Lady Vanishes".

Farewell, My Lovely from 1975 with Robert Mitchum. I bought a DVD from a Korean seller on e-Bay which despite advertising was actually letterbox. Once you shut off the Korean subtitles, everything is good. Opening titles are amazing, rest of the movie is solid with Mitchum doing "tired detective" better than anyone. In the first five or ten minutes you think he's doing a spoof of Bogart, then the movie settles in and his performance makes sense. Charlotte Rampling was wonderfully sultry with just the right amount of sluttiness. For hard boiled detective fans I think this is a must-see.
