I am looking into selling my Aero Battle of Britain RAF jacket. It is too warm in North Carolina and it has been in the closet for the last year. It is in perfect condition. I am going to try to post a few pictures and would like some feedback as to what price I should be asking. If this works, I can add more pictures. It is a size 48.
Thanks.

I'm not surprised it was a touch warm in NC. I visited there in November a few years ago, expected it to be rather cool, and spent the week in t-shirt and jeans - apart from an extremely wet day spent Chimney Rock :D. Naturally, we were delighted with such lovely weather, but if I was an Irvin owner, I'd be damn frustrated!

Sorry Peter. I am hoping to get a bit more. The weather here (even in the mountains) has been too warm for this jacket. It is a shame. I waited for so long to get it and was so excited when it came.

Hey, in that condition I'd say between 5 and 7 bills but not now as the weather warms up. Try selling it in the fall on the Bay but you could probably sell it here between now and then. Folks here know what an Aero is, most out there don't I just scored a size 52 and got it shipped here all the way from Denmark. I paid 4 large and split the shipping and yours is in slightly better condition than mine.

Well, it's soon to be the 'old model' and allowing for depreciation I'd say, hmmm, *kicks tyres* £80, my best price...

Look forward to seeing the pixs. Be interested to see the tweed lining, not many pitch up here, and to me it's one of the most flexible and hard-wearing linings.

It's not so warm and not so cold, so in that sense I would agree it's versatile.
thanks..its good to hear from someone who knows.im lucky that i dont feel the cold that much.years of walking my dogs in every type of weather has seen to that..labs & springers go out in any weather.

I used to have a pair of tweed trousers that were godawful itchy and sweaty , but they were cheap, so not a good guide. That said, I have one of Aero's Harris wool jumpers, which is made using the same raw material that the tweed is made from, and I wear it over t-shirts without it being too itchy but it's not lamb's wool, that's for sure. It also took a few weeks of wear to get it comfy, as it was stiff as a board initially! Even Aero's woolly jumpers need breaking in.
My feeling would be that a tweed lining might be a little scratchy with a t-shirt, in terms of comfort I'd stick with cotton or wool.

Hmmm

I'll stick with the Alpaca. Lovely and comfy. I usually just wear a t-shirt under my Aeros:D;)
