Absolutely beautiful graining. Schott jackets are underrated on this forum imo.

Yeah, I guess they are. I consider them the classic American workhorse of jackets. And, it’s what most people gravitate to, with name recognition etc. I’ve owned several over the years, never finding the model/style that exactly works for me; until I found this 623! It’s a beautiful blend between a traditional Schott and a modified Japanese repro. As I’ve mentioned before, I like that it doesn’t have epaulettes or a belt, and the fit is a tad slimmer.

My grail piece arrived today and did not disappoint. Mint condition, Cali made Herc. Everything is spot on perfect. As good as old clothes get. This is the jacket I have wanted since receiving the first one in 2018. In over 20 years of collecting, buying, selling, winning and losing….this is the absolute cherry for me. It negates all the complaints I’ve had about vintage lengths…this is the vintage jacket I’ve always wanted.

I’ve been wearing this Five Star Monarch Horsehide A-2 the last few weeks at work and the grain is really popping. Heavy rain this morning helped the break-in and sleeve creasing. Very happy with this latest purchase!

„So-thick-it-makes-you-giggle“- Horween navy blue steerhide on this Johnson Leather Barneveld. The color on this is literally impossible to catch on camera, it has shades of blue, green and grey. Think the ocean on a cloudy day.
