Still waiting on the a2. Deckjacket today...
Pull those sleeves shut and you're in business Really nice jacket, manSorry if this is photo overload, wasn’t sure on the etiquette of posting here versus starting a new thread.
First decent pics of my new Simmons-Bilt semi-custom double rider in Horween Milan horse hide. The leather is just superb - it’s a beautiful rich brown that is soft and pliable in a perfect mid-weight. I’m no expert, but construction and details all seem excellent.
It’s a semi-custom fit, based on a size 38 with my supplied sleeve and body measurements. The shoulders are perfect and the sleeves feel just right (though they look a bit long in these photos).
Now, hard to admit, but my heart did sink a little when I pulled it out of the box Monday and slipped it on. The body just seemed too roomy and boxy. Perhaps as a result, it also looked a bit short (definitely doesn’t help that these jeans sit pretty low). I checked the length against other jackets I have that are good and it is the same, so I’m thinking it just looked short because it was roomy and flaring up. I cinched up the side adjusters and that made a world of difference- the waist is perfectly snug and the chest still has room to easily move around. The cinching gathers a lot of material and may not look as good, but it got me to the fit I was looking for.
Really looking forward to hear what you all think about the fit!

To my eye it does have too much room in the body. A terrible amount? No...To the average person it probably looks just fine, but for jacket crazy guys here....a bit big. the clinch helps but then as you said you get the flare up of material in the back. I never owned an SB, can you return/exchange a custom/semi custom jacket? If not maybe try to flip/trade it....or keep it. Like I said most people wont have a clue about it. Most people wont appreciate what a beauty it is or see the things we see. I would just say this if it bothers you now, it will probably always bother you. Your first scratch or scuff on a new jacket will kill you, but the more you get and the more you wear it you start appreciate them. All the wind, dirt, scratches, stains make it your own and tell a story. A fit thats off like this wont go away or become your own. In some cases if something is too tight the leather will break in and drape and it can correct it, not so much this.Sorry if this is photo overload, wasn’t sure on the etiquette of posting here versus starting a new thread.

To me it's just the wideness of the unzipped sleeves that throw it off a bit. I like the fit in body just fine.I like it! I think the fit is fine..
no way to reduce the excess material in the waist without a major revision to the pattern, which can be done, but is also risky as it can through the look of the entire jacket off.
overall length is good. Overall fit reminds me a lot of how my 141 was fitting me, especially with the cinches and that extra material bunching up/not draping on the side panel.Sorry if this is photo overload, wasn’t sure on the etiquette of posting here versus starting a new thread.

@JustinW - 100% agreeing with @dannyk. While I don't think it looks bad, not by a long shot, it's a... Well, seems roomy. I too prefer my jackets to fit slim or at least short so I personally would prefer if it was a size smaller. On me, I mean. Doesn't look bad on you AT ALL. It's a stunning jacket but more importantly, what are those boots???
Thanks. If I were to size down the shoulders would be too small. Boots are Wesco Boss's (brown domain, double sole and extra heel).

As others have already said ... I think the length of the jacket is good, but it is too wide for my taste. But it's not that it looks bad now. If you feel good, perfect. Otherwise I would have waist and hip tapered.
Thanks. I think I will probably end-up going down this route. I'm going to contact S-B to see what they say and are willing to do.
