Best MC jacket ever made. No debate.

I have to agree. It is a great/very functional motorcycle jacket. I do have to say, I think Vanson has compromised with their comp. weight leather. Until Vanson steps it up, I would advise against their CW. I would maybe recommend their Z or X, or possibly one of Thurston's new offerings. Very disappointing to see them cut corners with their "premium" hide.

Is the serial number starts from 8? Or even 79?

I agree. The last new comp weight jacket I had shared nothing in common with a dozen or so previous comp weights (which were all different but still a grade or two above). I do think the model E is the best engineered cross zip for m/c use though. It is just cut perfectly for scooting. Longer/reinforced back, full AB, side laces for fit dial in. It just worked for me better than any other. Especially on this ergonomic nightmare: (photo from 2009). LOL. In the summer I felt no need for a proper jacket. Amazing I survived tbh. I did have a helmet and gloves (not pictured). I remember this day perfectly. I had just replaced the front tire. A different time. I took it to an HD dealer on the north side, Western Ave and they did it in 15 minutes. I jacked up the bike, took in the wheel and was riding again in 1/2 hr.

apparently the albury's have been making sails on man-o-war cay (a small island in the bahamas) since the 1800s ... one of the son's, norman .. his wife would take scraps of sail canvas and make bags. for a minute (the 70s?) she made these jackets (tag reads "made by mrs albury") i've had this guy for years .. found it in a church thrift. great summer jacket, if a little large on me .. super fun.
freakin' cold outside today!

This is just super-cool and exceedingly rare. Great fishing in the Abacos. Been hit hard by last hurricane. If you ever go fish there, you should wear this jacket. The locals will go crazy!

I have to agree, the model "E" checks all the boxes when it comes to a proper motorcycle jacket. The hide I have does perform, I guess. It blocks the wind, it's waterproof, and would protect in a slide. It's just sad to know that Vanson cut some corners to save a buck or two.

Thanks for posting a pic of your bike. Awesome bike to look at, but I'm not too sure about riding it around the busy streets of the windy city. I would say a few extra Hail Mary's and Our Father's before taking that bad boy out.

Schott "Highwayman" (if that's what it is !) in the Swan valley east of Perth Western Australia.
Bought used out of the UK a while back , in VERY good order.
6C start here this AM hence the jacket requirement when setting off.(This jacket is warm !)
This is a wine growing region, vines and Gumtrees in the backdrop.
Australian mother's day today , the ladies like wine tasting ( I don't , I'm a beer man 100% ), so I drive.

Cold today so I was able to give this Freewheelers jacket a try. The sleeves are a bit long, but I have short arms so not much I can do about that. Otherwise, I really like it. I was worried I would not like the slightly flared cut but I dig it.

Colin, that is great! How can this possibly look even better than your original photo....?!? Do you have sizing info?
Wear it in good health!
