Comp weight from a jacket I have had for quite a while. Top is sleeve and bottom is back panel. I dusted it off to wear today. Before the dreadful summer heat kicks my a$$.

@Hh121 I bet you can call Vanson so they can run the jacket ID number for a date of birth. Maybe I am crazy but aren't the "little holes" hair follicles? One hell of a camera you must have.
Yes, they are hair follicles. The bigger they are means more material was shaved off...hence more corrected. ( Just a side note: the adds suck...)

My guess is that the follicles pop out like that during Vanson's particular tanning/wax process of the comp weight leather and not because of an attempt at eliminating imperfection. May be an interesting question to pose to my bud there.

Thank you, I am about purchase Octagon Enfield in Rakuten, it's a really light weight jacket only weight 5.3lbs, not sure yours. So it does not absorb water?

I have ridden in a south Florida rainstorm in my Octagon Chopper and do not recall the jacket being soaked through. When I clean bugs off the jacket post-ride the water just beads off. To be sure, I will test it either tonight or during lunch. I understand that the octagon is infused with wax so it should take jumping into a pool to get to the point you are probably concerned about.

It is lighter than my comp. weight stuff but I prefer how it moves, looks and feels.

I'm in the same boat with my latest Aero CR. Perhaps not the greatest fit but I'm so in love with the hide that it's tough to pass it on. It is a narrow parameter, the fit specifics here. Very hard to ignore once you've become iniatied. But I suppose sometimes there's more than a perfect fit that makes a jacket desirable. Weird little niche hobby ain't it?

Ton... You're SO not in the same boat! XD

I will get some closeups of my octagon tonight or during lunch if I can get home. Not as broken in as this jacket but some wear over the past year or so. I prefer how X-150 and octagon looks during break-in. Though I do really like comp weight.

@Hh121 Here are closeups (I have previously posted pics of the entire jacket)-- The bottom photo is of my vest, based on a Thunderbird pattern. The rest are of my jacket, Chopper. The marbling on the vest is cool. Out of all my jackets, this one (and my Commando) get by far the most compliments and questions. The Vanson website has a tab detailing some of the available leathers. This and the X-150 of my Commando fall into the XL-type of leather range and I gotta say, Vanson's description is balls-on accurate.

We've had a few London meetups in the past, but none for a year or two now, I think. Certainly worth doing - the Events area (under 'Community' threads) would be the best place to put it, though folks could be directed to the thread from here to ensure nobody misses because they only bother with one part of the Lounge.

So created this thread for a London meetup:
https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/london-leather-jacket-meetup.94282/

To anybody interested in coming, please answer in the thread or DM me. it would be also be a good opportunity to check out leather jackets in the flesh :)

That jacket is all kinds of cool and practical. Would be interested in a quick comparison of the Sportie and Triumph. I am looking for a fun bike to scoot around on when I don't want to get on the Road King. Never ridden a Triumph, minimal time on that model Harley.

I’ve owned both as well. I think the finish is better on the sporty. If you’re 5’10” and over the bonny is more comfortable ergos. Bonny has better stock suspension, sporty is pretty bad. Both capable engines but v-twin has more soul. Both enjoyable with plenty available in the used market
