Wow didn't know there's issues between BK and Himel on here too.... interesting. Might need to search up on those topics where they had arguments up here, if those threads are not closed. Sorry to derail the topic so much.

Just want to compliment again on Superfluous nice jackets!

As a previous owner I can’t say they make a good jacket. The quality and service on mine was bad! I had three broken seams from normal wear in three months. Never had a broken seam in my Thedi or DD after way harder wear! Plus, the customer service was poor as hell when I confronted them with the broken seams, telling me I used it the wrong way and so on. I pampered that jacket, and still...
If I were you, go Thedi and forget Bill. Thedi makes wonderful jackets that you can customize as you wish, and the customer service is great!

Took advantage of the milder weather today and wore out the Langlitz Columbia that arrived yesterday. Leather is dark brown, not black, by the way. It is basicly black though.

No, I had and still have a black Cascade in midweight cowhide. This is a substantially heavier dark brown Columbia I got from the bay for what seemed very reasonable to me, these are 1300 USD new and heavy cowhide is no longer available so I made myself an early Christmas gift.

Nicely done jacketjunkie, that fits as well as my Columbia that I had made for me!

Thanks Ton. Just dumb luck. I like it, plus I don't have to break it in. :)
The best fitting (and to this date favorite) jacket I own occurred in similar fashion via a wanted to buy ad I placed in the classifieds, which made me think...even a blind squirrel occasionally finds an acorn...
The leather jacket universe is as complex and full of unexpected twists as any other. I think this mariner really suits you. And the fit looks tailor made...in a rare style as well. Doesn't get better than that!

Dr M,

Agree with Bobj.

As a photographer yourself you know how to take professional quality pictures and it is evident - instead of the at best fair selfies most of us here - including myself, post. The fact that you pick appropriate fitting jackets and are tall, thin and photogenic helps all the more in making a nice presentation. Good job.

G'c,
Keep your eyes on eBay and the classifieds here and your dream can become reality. I have a few shinki jackets (two Good Wear A2's and one Diamond Clothing A2) that I picked up far below retail price. All three were in like new condition.
The RMC J100 might be a bit harder to find but they do pop up from time to time, as Superfluous mentioned.
Good luck and happy hunting!

Thanks El Marro for being helpful. For buco j 100, I am thinking whether there are any significant difference between the RMC and Aero versions. I might only pick up those two at a decent price, since I had a couple of cafe racers already lol.

Thanks A-1 for sharing your thoughts. For thedi, would love to get the caramel colour one where the owner always wears previously.....don't know the exact model though. Not to worry about BK, I already got my surrogates (i.e. californian half belt) made by Tony Nowak, which is a great jacket, although not an accurate repro (not that I am too fussy about that).
