Too late, by now it has burrowed in and set up shop. Give in, its easier.

I think it’s looking at the pictures of the jacket that does it, so for the next few weeks I’m going to studiously avoid looking at pictures of a CHP. Here’s hoping (kind of).

Here my super old CHiPs from Aero. I got this used, it had been abused, now it's my thrasher too. Don't know when it was made but I've never seen a more beat up aero, I've seen more patina but not more wear and tear. I had a cut repaired I got while extracting my vehicle from a snowbank in Northern New Mexico, I replaced the zip with a beefier one after the original failed. My first horsehide. Still one of my favorites. @JMax

You can see some of the "teacore" patina on the sleeve in the last photo taken a couple years back.

Yessir. I vividly remember walking into the recruiter’s office three days after. Sign me up and send me out. But first, officer school and follow on training. Ha, I didn’t get over there until almost two years had passed.
My utmost respect JMax Sir. I joined up in the Suck before Saigon fell but for much different reasons. Back in the compass and map days. You’re an ok guy...for an officer. Lol
That must be where they taught you how to wear a jacket!!!
Your latest might be your greatest!

Ha, I was enlisted at heart. It actually got me in trouble a few times with other officers, especially those outside of my career field. Too bad, I had more fun than them.

Perfect, exactly what a police jacket should look like. Thanks for sharing.

I thought my G-1 collection was “complete” (ha!) but I found a real gem: a 2002 Excelled Navy-issue G-1 in a rare size 48 Long that dates to the year and month that I was selected for advancement to Navy Chief (a major milestone to the lucky few in the Navy chosen for this position). Picked this one up for under a hundred bucks!
Fits like a glove and the goatskin is superb (very reminiscent of vintage 1950’s and ‘60’s G-1 jackets).
