Thank you @Tom71 for the addictional pics.
And i spelled that correctly!!
If one could choose only two jackets to own i believe your pair of midnight blue and Natural Aeros would sate me ad infinium!!
Makes me wanna sell my precious ones and start ordering.
Except the Cal and the Antique Steer and....well you get the idea!

I just wish these two will satisfy me for at least a little while...:). If I want to break them in as they deserve, there will be no more jackets this year.

Is that natty veg tan? I bought a pair of boots in that leather, and it really is a stain magnet. I’ve had a little success cleaning spots with alcohol or water... tried ivory dish soap it’s okay. Put a little wax and conditioner on them when I first got them because the leather seemed dry, but it didn’t seem to help protect it much in the stain department. I think I would have like natural cxl better, at least in the short run... but I’ll see how this ages. It does develop a patina rather quickly.

Yes, it is. I actually don´t mind the staining at all. It´s just part of the process. I am positive the jacket will look really good (and will finally become "my jacket") once it gets a little beaten and rugged.

Incidentally, I bought a pair of "Butts&Shoulders"-Boots last year in a natural veg-tan leather. It reacts very similar to the hide of the jacket, so it may well be the same tanning method.

In regards to natural vegetable tan leather my advice is just to accept the stains. There's really no avoiding them. They even get stained from water, so there's really nothing to be done about it. After a while, as they acquire patina and stains, all of the individual stains just merge into beautiful character and patina.

Only a fraction of the joy of living in Edinburgh

Looks like leather jacket and wet suit temperatures at Belhaven Bay.

Ocean Water Temps at 58 degrees does sound a bit chilly @jonesy86 ... the ocean is into the mid 70's around my island..

Ah yes, my roots go way back on your island. My people came there in the 1850s for want of potatoes on another island. I would head to Jones Beach wearing my Lauhala hat.

Smoke on your pipe and put that in.
