I’ve owned both as well. I think the finish is better on the sporty. If you’re 5’10” and over the bonny is more comfortable ergos. Bonny has better stock suspension, sporty is pretty bad. Both capable engines but v-twin has more soul. Both enjoyable with plenty available in the used market

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I tend to gravitate to HD because of the feel of the engine/ride and the huge network of dealerships to take care of possible issues when on a long run. Strongly considered a Rocket prior to the RK and the bonneville is visually appealing. Oh, and throwing out self-delusion and outright lying when asked, I am not 5'10".

Go for the 1200, the 883 runs out of puff too quickly.

I suppose that the point is that when we are talking about true biker jackets (like this one above) - there's no need of any excessive words of "bikers for bikers" etc., 'cause... when it's superb - it's superb. That's it.
