SWOOOOOOOON!

I get serious heart palpitations over bad boys from the 1950s...the James Dean, Johnny Cash, and Johnny Depp in the movie "Crybaby."
*sigh*

Slick, medium length pompadour hairstyle
dreamy blue eyes
a little stubble on the face, but not too much
tattoos and maybe an ear spreader :D
tight jeans with the cuffs rolled up
tight tshirts
leather jacket
a sad and mysterious devil may care look

ooo..i do believe I am gettin the vapors!

LADIES DO TELL ME YOURS!

When I lived downtown during college, I would love to go out at lunch time to see all the business men in their suits. So I think I tend to like them dressed up even when they are dressed down. I have a thing for forearms and I love to see my husband with his sleeves rolled to the elbow when he wears a button down. I just lose it when he takes his suit coat off and he is wearing suspenders, ****SNAP***** I just love that.

Ever since I was little I've always liked the "rockabilly" look on guys. I had a SERIOUS CRUSH on the dude in the movie The Heavenly Kid lol I also had a thing for Lenny (from Lenny and Squiggy! lol)

I still like it. Hmmmm....that's probably my fave still.

Hawaiian/Bowling shirts
Fitted white t-shirts
Turned up jeans with black boots
Slicked, neat hair (I like "Devo" hair -- as I call it!)
Tattoos
Sideburns

My husband looks like this.

I also just generally like any vintage look from Victorian to the greaser 50s. My ultimate celebrity crush is Peter Serafinowicz and he did two skits on his show that just about KILLED me -- Sherlock Holmes (mmm, faux Victorian Peter!) and Stan Laurel (ah, he was so good!) Yea. Almost KILLED me.

One look I don't like is the baggy suit with exaggerated shoulders that was pretty popular from the late 1930s into the 1950s. Bleh :(

Oh I like the bad boy quiff and tattoos thing too, despite trying to avoid the rockabilly look myself. I also totally love the 30's wide legged, high waisted trouser thing.

I absolutely love my husband in a fedora. He looks fabulous in a classic cut, double breasted suit anyway but when he pops on a topper, I just melt. This is his summer straw. Love it.

And then there's that USMC uniform, which hasn't changed much over the decades...big swoon-age. :)

And...tattooed.

I'm going to make myself a cool drink now...

It may not be exclusively vintage, but a man in uniform can't be beat. My sister lives near the Naval Academy and frequently hosts midshipmen at her house and they always show up fully dressed. nom, nom, nom! As for retro looks, I prefer the skinny suit look with the small brimmed fedora or a pork pie hat.

I'm a suit girl, too, and a forearm girl at that! I love seeing dress shirts with the sleeves rolled to the elbow.

And ladies, I can't live without suspenders. They are so attractive. I have no idea why! I also like sweater vests and sweaters in general.

I'll have to agree with you there. *purrrrrrrrrr*

My husband was getting dressed this morning, and standing in his unbuttoned dress shirt, undershirt, boxer briefs, and socks and garters he made the most delicious picture. Mmmmm. I wish we weren't running late this morning...lol

Yeah.. the half dressed look works really well on him! Of course, dressed in his slacks and sweater vests, he looks pretty dishy too!

Yum indeed Lauren! (Loves Mr Darcy, in several incarnations.) :p
I enjoy styles on a man that are a little older than retro too (privateer comes to mind).

As far as retro, I like:

Hawaiian shirts paired with khakis or jeans
I love penny loafers (on guys or on me), or old Converse sneakers
Bowling shirts too, especially creatively designed ones
Well fitted suits with a waistcoat/vest (likes suspenders too)
Suits with or without a fedora (or style that works for the specific gent)
Spectator shoes are fantastic...always gives me a starting point for eyeing

I like clean cut, or moustache and trimmed goatee, but a little scruff paired with short hair that is just slightly unkempt (falling in the eyes a little) is very nice. :D

My fellow Gary Cooper addicts and I just especially melt over this pic. He’s fully dressed but oh my goodness, it’s just incredibly sexy. I love the jacket off look and the cool casualness of the pose. Why can’t more men still be that fashionable and all around awesome? [huh]

Ooh. I like that one. There's something about that just slightly disheveled look in 30s clothes that's really attractive. Not that they're sloppy or too neatly dressed- but like someone you could actually talk and joke with. My husband does this look pretty well when he wears suits :)
Note to self- get husband a pair of suspenders like those. Those are preeettty.
