Doh, one of my goals this summer was to get rid of the wall to wall carpeting on my 1st floor and expose the hard wood. The house is 107 years old and I peeked under the carpeting to see the most gorgeous wood I have ever seen. It is a wide pine with the most incredible markings on it and I thought all I would need to do was give it a light sanding and then put a sealant on it. The dining room floor is perfect and doesn't need much work expect for that but the floor in the computer room is an absolute nightmare. Someone actually stained sections of it in green!!
Now I am going to have to finish stripping all the rugs and hire a professional to sand these floors down so I don't ruin them and then I will have to stain them all. I am so overwhelmed right now that I am sitting here and the house is in shambles but am too weary to do anything about it today.
Do you have any home improvement projects you have started only to regret it?
