What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

You already know I like that Gorusgu and Wormser, so I’m gonna put the light on that nice McAndrew. I’ve had several from the early/mid 60s and still have one and they all have really nice felt.
Proof that some of the later hats still could be had with great quality and nice proportions.
Thanks, Randall. It's definitely growing on me. Had to take some time to get it to behave the way I wanted it to, but this is a shape I can wear it in.
Mayser "Libelle", probably early to mid 1950s based on sold by "(Wilhelm) Zeumer 80 years" of Karlsruhe. Last time I posted photos of this was almost 4 years ago. I found this Soft Felt back in 2015.

Mayser's Hutmanufactur, February 28, 1896. Found this receipt back in 2016.

Maybe Mayser's best period. Wonderful hat, Steve.

Thanks Joe!
And double thanks! The hat was actually my Game Bird, but you just gave me a perfect excuse (as if one were needed) to throw on the Rainbow! :)

Have a great day!
Wonderful hat, John. I can just about feel that felt.

Nice old hat, Steve, and great history as usual, but I’m way impressed with that cursive hand writing on the receipt!
So beautiful and elegant.
We have really went downhill as civilized people, haven’t we?
Randall, Thank you! Yes, I can barely write in crude cursive anymore. :) I actually have an antique ink blotter from C. G. Wilke Guben Hutfabrik / Hat Factory.

Cheers, Eric -
Wonderful hats, Eric!

I recently acquired a Mallory Dallas, virtually identical to yours, including the crease. Mine too has a very thin, soft, and lightweight felt. I couldn't get mine to hold a crease without using a few spritzes of distilled water. I'm a fan so far!

Just picked up this Stetson Stratoliner. Not sure of the year but I'm thinking 1960s. It has a rather tall crown of 4.5". At first I thought it was an Open Road until I found the tag under the sweatband indicating it to be a Stratoliner. Not sure when Stetson started using the little Stratoliner Airplane pin, but this certainly predates that. So, if anyone has any info as to this being an early 1960s or possibly late 1950s. What's odd is that it came with the extra liner. The one in the hat is still glued in place, so I would assume the one in the hat is the original one. There were View attachment 593384 View attachment 593386 View attachment 593387 View attachment 593388 View attachment 593389 View attachment 593390 View attachment 593391 View attachment 593392 View attachment 593393 View attachment 593394 no other tags under the sweatband, other than the numbers stamped on the leather, but I didn't want to tear the paper tag to see what it was. Perhaps the box will give some kind of indication as to the time period.
That is one HANDSOME hat. And quite the good looking dog, too!

Because the picture doesn't show the bow very well, here's a side view of it (don't worry the feather has gone).

Hopefully the weather improves the coming week and the hats get a chance to show themselves in better light.
Another week's worth of stunners!

Had a wonderful afternoon at the public library under the brim of the Mallory Ten.

I raided the German interest shelf and came away with a decent selection, including a novel about the German scientists who built Huntsville’s Space and Rocket program as well as this quite robust bilingual edition of Rilke poetry.
