Knox Custom today for more Stingymas action.

Only a 2 inch brim but somehow it looks bigger.

Back into Stingymas with my Borsalino Anello. Sorry for the poor quality photo. The hat is a dark navy blue. The ribbon is black.

On the Sixth Day of StingyMas….

Deep blue Dobbs Twenty that came to me from @jlee562 a few years back. I’m of the belief this was once a much less stingy brim before being trimmed into quite a high end dreamy stingy with a very well done approximation to replicate its Guild Edge.

That is about the nicest baby blue I've seen, Eric.
Good morning. This mornings walkabout found me under the brim of a hat made by the Canadian Hat firm Wolthausen Hat Company. This 30-40's fedora has a stunning blue felt.

Cheers, Eric -

Thanks Bob. It looks like we chose the same or very close ribbon colors as well.
Looks fantastic Randy! I have Art's Glacier color #13 (of 13). The Art-Minto.

Brent @deadlyhandsome, Ken @Wyldkarma , @Robieman, @Joshua London and Doug @Tukwila have one. Who else?

You see, Gary, you need a black just like your SB to continue your western theme!

Looking good, young man.
A late start to Stingymas for me was followed by a two day break as first, my Fed IV (three days ago), then my Silverbelly Campdraft (the day before yesterday) saw some action. The Fed IV avoided the camera.

I look for a hat and I find others, such as a series of homburg or lobbia in the Italian name, sold in Sofia and built between the two wars
Mirtillo Sofia 3.jpg
Every now and then these "finds" from a distant era appear, almost always on the UK market, almost as if Sofia were a suburb of London
Mirtillo Sofia 8.jpg
Borsalino "Trionfo" size 6 1/2 or 60 centimeters or 7 1/2 in the USA.
The color of the felt is "Mirtillo" and the type of hat is "Mula", there is a wind cord although a little loose after the years
Mirtillo Sofia 4.jpg
One of the homburgs or lobbia produced by Borsalino that I like most for its large and generous shapes
Mirtillo Sofia 1.jpg

Thanks for your likes for the Vanzina disguised as an English hat.

You have given your Campdraft one heck of a good looking shape - not only the bash but also the brim work are really spot on. One of the nicest examples I’ve seen, especially coupled with that very attractive coat.
Thanks! I purchased the Campdraft and the Fed IV together and they were my first (and so far only) open crown purchases, so being my first attempt, I struggled a bit to get them how I wanted, especially the Fed IV. The Campdraft brim isn’t snapping down quite like it used to. It tends to pop back up once in a while.

Not sure I need another black hat. If I do end up with another black western, though, I’m hoping it’s going to be a Gambler.

Echet Mayser "Superbe" possibly early to mid 1950s. The felt is is very soft and the brim is less stiff so not like a typical Mayser Homburg. Interesting color and great Brim Curl. I found this Soft Felt back in 2019.

What a fantastic colour, Joe. The wide ribbon and its colour sets the whole hat off perfectly. Love it!

Superb is definitely an appropriate adjective here.

Toller Hut und Aschenbecher!

I don't use tobacco anymore but when I once did in Germany and we could still smoke indoors, those solid little ashtrays were in all the pubs (Kneipe). It's a fond memory.

I don't miss tobacco but somehow at the same time I do. I actually wonder if it might be why our culture is so cranky these days (or at least a contributing factor): western civ is suffering from collective nicotine withdrawal!
