Thanks, Joe. I couldn’t be happier how it turned out. I think that under a cloud-free sky it will present as more of a sky blue. It’s a great color in any case.

Looks great Don. I love the dressy casual look a pinch on an homburg can give. Something really need to do more often. (Though it is similar to going brim up on some of my soft felts)

Today’s installment of Bob’s Beater Hats (TM) is a 1940s or early 1950s Royal Stetson DeLuxe Flagship after the first of what may be many attempts to clean it.

The non-Petersham ribbon version with an under-welt brim.

It may look rough, but at 7-1/2 LO I’ll take what I can get.

Taking photos of a few hats in one of my normal spots when I had a visitor:

This Coyote got within 15 feet of me which is very unusual. He eventually trotted off, but he never seemed concerned. Made me wonder if coyote fur would make a decent fur felt for hats…?

The felt did get better, but there is still that chunk out of the leather, the ribbon stains and the … ugh … liner.
