PH. Möckel Hutfabrik (1806) made the original Homburg style hat for King Edward the VII of England. This Stiff Felt is from original company that closed in 1931 due to the global economic crisis. Great Condition + Form with very tight Brim Curl. This is one my most interesting + rare finds.

Let me tell you how my brain works. I think you meant Standard Hat Works. It actually spelled out Har instead of Hat. Well, ya know how we have TAR for thin a** ribbon and WAR for wide a** ribbon? My first thought was that Har stood for huge a** ribbon.

Some historical info PH. Möckel Hutfabrik, Homburg vor der Höhe and the Homburg Hut / Hat.

"Gut behutet" Hat Museum of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe (1985). I picked up this pamphlet back when I first visited the museum in January of 2016. The following is the section on the Homburg Hut / Hat and the company (PH. Möckel Hutfabrik, Homburg vor der Höhe ) that first produced it for Edward VII Prince of Wales. This information is probably more accurate than what has been reported else where so worth taking a look at.

Took a cue from @BobHufford, though this old Champ is not nearly as nice as as that O’Farrell. No shortage of brim here— making for a nice umbrella this morning.
It has a hole in the front of the crown from where this large pin used to sit. Anyone have any idea specifically what the decoration might be from?

Well worn and lightly stained Circle C brand western by Champ, triple C quality

I was Air Force, so not sure if it was a decoration or not, but looks to be the standard US Army insignia/logo
