Really late to the party today. The Borsalino Angora made it's debut at church this morning. Still just as fluffy and floppy as I remember from last season. Love this hat and the Misto Grigio color. It goes well with the new granite colors. I'll have to photo more dark hats on this surface. View attachment 146810 View attachment 146811 View attachment 146812

Wow! Truly luxurious felt there. And with granite countertops like those, I can see why you’d want to show them off too, with or without the hats.

A. Peschel Dinkelsbühl "Flexible" probably very late 1960s and a recent arrival.

Both of those Carltons are really nice!

The "Carlton" brothers are part of the pile of hats of various eras I bought in Strasbourg. Their producer J & B was, in the golden years, one of the best manufacturers of French hats. Thanks Joe

Lovey shape and a wonderful hat, Daniele.
Thanks Stefan. It is bizarre to find a Borsalino from the fifties like that, replica of the 30s style, that nobody buys or at least leaves it on the US market for so many hourso_O

This...this...this is a very fine looking hat Daniele!! I love the proportions of it.
I have zero knowledge of Carlton but it’s easy to see this is one quality fedora!!
Bravo....love it!!

Yes, Bowen this is one of the twenty or more astounding hats coming from Strasbourg - France. They are lucky finds of a hats production that no longer exists. I was lucky enough to buy the inventories of the store "A. Meer" in France where there were some French gems. These branded "Carlton", which appears to be a transnational (european) brand, are among those off the charts. Thank you for your appreciation

Superb. Great shade of brown.
Thanks Stefan!

Wonderful. Oh to have been a fly on the wall at Borsalino, to have some additional information on the timeline of labels and style names and numbers... to peek at the production and inventory before WWII and during WWII and after WWII. Maybe there was a significance to the pretty colored borders on the labels of this era? I don't know anything, but in the absence of answers, the questions are what we have to enjoy.

Thank you Alan. The "Angico" Borsalino branded Colombo also surprises me because it is rare to see a so well preserved hat and with this shape. All the papers, records and documentation of a hundred and more years of history of the historical Borsalino are now owned by the municipality of Alessandria. I have a CD with the confirmation of administration data. It is very instructive on the sources of fur and other aspects, but completely devoid of news regarding the sheets of production. We can only enjoy ourselves fantasizing

Bat would be proud.

A few cold days here in the Pacific NW. Like Jim, @Frunobulax , I got the day off (from my Holiday Clerk Assistant position), too, because of the National Day of Mourning. A good excuse to take my daughter to lunch!

Double layers of thick cloth and the NW Hat Company pecan fedora from Mike Miller. A great go-to hat for most any day. It started out with a classic center dent, but as many of my hats, it has evolved to a nice diamond crease with sharper lines and tighter pinches.
