You can take the Penumbra out of the shadows, but you can't take the shadows out of the penumbra.Wow... keep that penumbra out of the shadows. It's the bee's knees.
Thanks Stefan!A good homburg conquers all, John. Very nice (if a bit austere) Tirard.
I like wonky once in awhile Bob..... feels damn good.
LOL!
Nice one, Bob. Did it always have a thin ribbon? The weave on the lower part of the crown seems to suggest it once had a pug or wider ribbon.

Thanks BB. It actually is beaded in black, gray, blue & white but the blue gets underexposed & doesn't show up in a pic with all the black. It was beaded by a woman who was Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) & Blackfoot I think, but was raised in the Nation in Oklahoma.Great band on that hat.
1940s - I think - J.C. Penney's Marathon in blue.
That is a beautiful hat Jim. I can see why you like it so much.TAR Thursday (Friday for me, as I'm taking tomorrow). The color on this hat is superb. A rich hue and well-saturated. Just a great hat. Plus I dig this version of the logo.

My cheapest straw hat i own. 10 bucks for an 100% straw hat made in Italy. I don't know anything about it, but this fella sits perfectly on my head!

My 2 cents .... I see they claim it's 100% Paglia (= straw), but my guess is that it is made of Toyo straw or even more likely Shantung (paper straw).
I could be wrong, but you better not risk getting it wet
