All the nice Panamas and other straws on parade in the last few days reminded me that I have this Optimo Superfino. And that I should wear it and share it!

And if I photograph it just right you can't see the big crack in the brim...

The change of weather has finally arrived over the weekend

Y'all are KILLING it with lots of lovely lids of late, lads!!

I am traveling to western Massachusetts today, so a western seemed right.
Digging deep into the hats of my past, a Resistol straw purchased at Cutter Bill's as a gift for me by my late father-in-law in the early 1980s...

Thanks Bowen. I must confess that I am very eclectic in the choice of hats, in short, when I like a hat I buy it as it is.
I don't have any conditions, this panama, blemished for some darker straw in the woven, I liked it a lot so bought it.
The only drawback is the leather sweatband which during the summer is a torture.

Absolutely gorgeous hat, John. The weave is incredible; a repaired tear wouldn’t deter me from wearing it either.

It's not a tear in the brim, but a section where a straw was pulled out of the weave and the brim cteased along the weak spot. Looks kinda like a run in a stocking. But I can'r see it when it's on!
