Very cool hat, Richard. You did indeed get lucky. Nice colour and I like what he did with the brim edge.Gladhatter
Took a chance on this on eBay and got lucky. Really sweet felt with one of the smoothest finishes I’ve laid hands on.
Apparently he was a custom hatter in the late 90a early 2000s. There are a couple of short threads on FL
The head shots are close to actual color

Still gorgeous. One of your best, Mike.1950s Mallory XV with a shark's gill bow treatment. In your face brim binding.

Beuatiful; a commanding hat!Borsalino (French market)
Good to see you back, Matt. Looks like the brim wants to be somewhere in between homburg and fedora. I would like to see it turned up too, if only for Bob Robert's sake.@Frunobulax "made" me buy this. It came yesterday.
He and I both thought it was a homburg from the pics on the eBay. It ain't.
Royal Vita-Felt.
Looks good either way, Jeff. I kind of like these swooping brims myself.I needed a change so I reverted the brim shape of my Falcon Park black cherry lords hat to the way Parker originally made it for me.
Enjoy your day!

Very cool, Terry. I'm curious to see what the end result is going to be.Wearing a gift from a fellow Lounger who wishes to remain anonymous. My thanks to him for the hat. This is a Culo Brutto Borsalino in black. It's my next project and is already on the block. The felt is real nice and the detailing is second to none. I'll be reusing the original ribbon work and brim binding. There's plenty of hat here to work with and it should make a very nice conversion. I'll be squaring up the crown from its previous very tapered form. It has plenty of open crown height, (somewhere between 5 3/4 and 6 inches tall), and a 3 inches wide brim. I'm not a black hat fan but I may make an exception with this one when I'm finished. I'll have more in the Conversion Corral when it's completed...
Great hat, Jim. You look a bit like you're expecting root canal work though...Great minds think alike, @Redfokker. At the dentis with a Mallory XV with Duplex Edge.
Let's see what Goofus and Gallant are up to...

Still looks good, John. It's the kind of curl Matts' hat wants I think.Hey all!
The previously discussed Borden. I used a flange and hand shaping to put a curl back in the brim, but I think I'm lacking a technique and probably a tool or two to get the tightness back to the curl.
I was having bad luck getting decent pics, weird lighting today. Here's one that shows the brim a little better.
Have a great day!

But it's a whole month of looking coolAkubra Fed 1V in black with a turkish towel $12 doubling as a scarf. Duluth firehouse presentation blazer ( SUPER PRODUCT ).

See? A good homburg is the natural way! The homburg nation approves, Matt.1930s Dobbs for hijinksifying.
Happy almost Friday.
That can be considered blasphemy, RichardGood to see you Matt, looks better than a homburg anyway. Very cool Vita-felt
Great hat. Love the look of that felt.I wore this hat all day, but changed jackets after the mail arrived. I like the way the natural felt is so versatile.

Thanks, Christophe. Can't go wrong with a good homburg.Grey homburg, very classy.
I never was much of a black hat guy but I'm kinda warming up to them, some. My new Borsa conversion will be my second black hat and I think it will make nice one. I'm anxious, myself, to see how it turns out. Here's a black Resistol thin ribbon conversion I did last Fall...It's good to have a black one Terry! …………….at least three of them period. It's going to be a merry go round but great to have options! I only wanted one but ended up with a couple more.
I think to put it into perspective? Black is menacingly sexy! Just me again fella's
Can't wait for the transformation!
Cheers!

Thank you, steur. I'm curious, myself. I think it's going to be a nice one when it's finished. My first Borsalino.Very cool, Terry. I'm curious to see what the end result is going to be.
