Thanks, B!Yes, Sir. 1951 to 1953. What a great find.
Regardless the lack of known maker, that is one super find, Steve.Ludovikus Hagens Wwe / St. Veit (Sankt Veit), Wool, possibly early 1930s. Never was able to figure out the source of this Wool Stiff Felt. The paper label has a Sheep with a St. Veit Banner. Sankt Veit an der Glan Schafrasse is a small town in the South East corner of Austria and I couldn't find any Felt Hat production in the town. My guess is this is the source of the Wool used for the Felt. The Stiff Felt Hat was sold by a shop (Ludovikus Hagens Wwe) in a small town (Lustenau, Voralberg) in the upper North West corner of Austria. I found this Wool Stiff Felt back in 2021.
Ludovikus Hagens Wwe (Lustenau, Voralberg, Elisabethstraße 7) was located in the front of this house. Photo from 1908.
Great crown on those.
Steve, Thank you! I like the mysteries as much as the famous names. I will keep posting Stiff Felts without repeating. It's interesting to go through all of them. I started the end of April.Regardless the lack of known maker, that is one super find, Steve.
That’s got to be one of the best straw hats I’ve ever seen

Thanks, Jeff. It’s the Tankersley as designed by @Frunobulax
Really? I thought it was one of their regular "Indy" models. Looks good with the wider ribbon, and I like that bronze color. I didn't know there was a third one roaming around.
