What a week! It somehow feels like it’s been a little longer than that. I’m sure you can find a couple more if you dig around that collection of yours, though.
Thanks, Gary. Well, you how some weeks just seem to drag on;)

Stevens Pacesetter - California Royalist
Silverbelly felt
4 1/2 crown as shaped (about 5 open)
2 inch tan w/ charcoal spotted striped grosgrain ribbon with back bow
2 1/8 rolled underwelt brim

I had inquired with the seller regarding the Moth holes in the felt on this Silverbelly Stevens Pacesetter. They assured me that they did not go all the way through the felt. Turns out they were incorrect as a few of them do. But I’m not too worried about it as it was the really awesome ribbon that caught my eye and I got it at the right price. The ribbon is a super cool and unusual medium tan with charcoal speckled stripes fashioned in a back bow. In certain lights there is a pink or lavender tone to it. But in direct sunlight it’s definitely more tan. The felt on the crown is super soft. Almost so much so it didn’t want to hold shape at first... but after a good brushing which released clouds of dust... it kinda sprung to life. The felt is a very nice Silverbelly shade I don’t see as much on dress hats. The aforementioned mothing is a little more than I preferred a few spots entirely through the felt on the crown. The largest of which is hidden in the pinch along with more under the brim. I had taken more photos of the mothing... but for some reason They did not save. I may use this as an opportunity to attempt a moth divot repair. Either way it’s a fun little hat with a real unusual whimsical ribbon and it fits rather nicely.

Very cool. That ribbon is indeed something else. Nice catch, Joe.

The show stopper! My goodness, that Echter Borsalino Nobelsca Misto Lodola is the cat's meow! What a fabulous hat!
Thanks, Reggie. I'm still grateful that Garrett let that one go!

Very nice Optimo, Reggie. I like the colours on that one.

Dinner & drinks in our hotel room thanks to the virus, but it does mean we can indulge in another of Etsuko’s favourites...sparkling wine and strawberries. View attachment 313582
Great hats, but killing it again with the food pics, Gary. Congrats btw.
Should get rid of a little more snow on this nice day. Celebrating in my new derby.

Spring was definitely in the air today. I was able to wear a lighter weight coat along with my Stetson Premier.
I was flattered when a lady said, as I walked past, "that's a really nice hat." Don't you just love it when that happens :) View attachment 313766 View attachment 313768
Always good news to meet someone with a good eye for hats! Looks great, Steve.

Wonderful hat, David.
Thanks Stefan. Yes, the Portis likes the sun.

Wowser, ended on a high note with the Nobelsca. Fantastic set.

Thanks Joe.

Thanks Alan. I've been sort of looking for one like this for awhile now.

Thanks Bob. I like that guess. It feels fairly old, but as I said, I have no real idea. I wonder when they quit using a taped seam on the sweat?

Thanks Steve. Should be very aerodynamically stable. Ha ha.

Great looking hat, and outfit, Steve. Not quite springlike here yet, but getting closer.

Thanks all,
Michael
Thanks, Michael.

Looks great on you, Brent.

One advantage of no-themed hat wearing is that you can pick any hat that takes your fancy. Here are a couple.

When the ladies like it, you are in good shape. That hat looks great! I really like what you did with the crown.

Back from a work trip this afternoon. Air travel in the pandemic is complicated. I traveled with caps.

Out for a walkabout after a spot of dinner in a 30's Borsalino.

Cheers, Eric -
Great cap, Eric! I love the texture in that one, and of course, the Borsalino speaks for itself. I agree traveling by air is much easier with caps.

Bob, you sure have a great collection of ORs. That Resistol is a real beauty. You and Greg have really given me an education with that style of hat.

Awesome. My Shudde is one of my favorites

Thanks Joe! This hat is always within reach. A fave!

That's a real prize, Bob!!! Fantastic!

Thanks Dale! I wish it was just a tad bigger. Maybe if I shave my head ...

Looking at Bob's fine Resistol, then Michael's equally fine Resistol, something I noticed. Bob is wearing a denim top whilst Michael looks like he's off to Siberia.

I envy your warmth (and weather) Robert! If we don't like the weather around here we just wait a day or two.

The high on the 23rd is probably coincidental, but I like to think that it had something to do with my birthday and my personal warmth. Then again, my Mom (again) reminded me that it started snowing the day I was born and we had snow on the ground for over three weeks.

Excellent hat, Bob.

Thanks Stefan! High praise!

Thanks Reggie! I give your Camp Draft an A+ and your coat collection is something I have studied for years.

Went today for the vaccine and wore this Borsalino. Wore it and some hiking boots, you know in case I croaked or something, die with my boots and hat on sort of thing. Did not have bad reaction. Failed to get a photo of me with the Borso on today. Afterward we went and ate Thai food. I did take a long nap in the afternoon. My arm is sore tonight and I have not gotten to sleep so I am posting this riveting account of my day. Also of course surfing the interweb looking at hats and drinking a chocolate ale. I told you this was riveting. :)

Yes I will be glad when life can be more riveting again. I get my second stick of the Pfizer on St. Patricks day. Ten days after that I am gonna start venturing out a little more.....but with all necessary caution...and a some kind of hat! That is a great looking Borsalino!
