Today....following up on yesterday’s mention of similarities to a Mallory The Dallas, guided me to such the hat. Another soft hat with a natural crease reminiscent of a classic @40Cal diamond. By NO means near the iconic art but suggestive of the Diamond King’s.
For those of you who don’t know “the look”, it is a signature sadly missed around here. Imho
Be well and safe.
Bowen

It turns up on eBay every now and then.

^^^^good to see you are still around Robert. Hope all is well in SoCal.

All is well here, Bowen. I have been doing the Social distancing thing for most of my adult life! Except for wearing a mask and gloves.... not much is all that different. How are things with you?
I'm wearing a real nice Knox today.

Michael; Excellent vintage cap pairs well with your outdoor attire. I am impressed with your bread project. Smoked bacon and fresh bread are the things that dreams start with.

Cheer sir.
Thanks Eric. I got tired of smoking up my felt hats. Ha ha. The belly is in the smoker, but hasn't been taking much color yet. That is a fine looking 7XCB you had out. Don't see many dress hats in that grade. Lovely.

Great cap and wonderful looking bread Michael. My wife just made some Banana Bread, wish I would have brought some to work now......
Thanks Tim. After a long lay off I've just gotten back to trying some bread baking. There's not much that is sweeter than banana bread, unless it's a wife that makes you banana bread.

Looks like you got excellent oven spring on that bread. Thumbs up.
Thanks Alan. I have been getting excellent pan spring for sure. it's been years since I have done any baking by hand of bread and it's been going very smoothly.

Thanks all,
Michael

I make tons of bread, and that looks like a great loaf. Have a great night Michael.

After New water heater installed and a nice hot shower. Enjoying the end of the day with my black stingy brim Cavanagh with Cavanagh edge. Many thanks to a good friend who offered his much appreciated help with this unplanned project

Cant get over the plethora of hat brands. This is my unadorned German "Modern" brand with its "Perfekt" brand bash stabilizer and protector fitted at the forepeak of the hat. Soft felt, understated thin ribbon without a real bow and cross brim length too wide for a trilby and not enough for a Fedora. A cool city hat with pretensions to a rural workabout.

Nice one Bowen.

I'll join in on the Diamond Crease today. My first attempt at one on a wide brim Cavanagh......

I put on my old Snowy River this morning. When I bought it back in 2003 it was the #1 seller for Akubra and a very Australian shape.

Over the years people have asked how well the Akubra holds up to punishment. Doing my home Reno this last two weeks made me realize when I work hard I wear either my Tilley or Pith helmet. So really you need a beater to keep your good hats good.
