A sho nuff victory.
Suede Marque Grand Luxe Salvatore Balbi Borsalino, 50s? The diagonal liner seam is sewn together not just folded. Idk a thing about these hats, but I know quality when I see it and wear it.
2 1/2 inch brim. 4 1/2 inch crown front as creased, so great proportions! The felt is super incredible!!

Man, very nice one Randall ! Looks in great condition. I have one from Michele Balbi, I wonder if they are related ? Maybe some of the Borsalino experts will know.

View attachment 222434 Greetings All:
Today....it’s not a hat...i know!!
But...i got a story and since we all have time...what the heck.
My perpetual nap was interrupted by a frantic mother call who locked the only keys and two year old in the car across town. My old Audi, not an easy break-in.
Time was of the essence so, yes mother, break the window, i’m on my way. Threw on whatever and lit out. Half way there a call, all’s well, got the keys.
It turns out with 3 butter knives and a coat hanger you can fish the keys to a two year old who can un-lock herself no sweat.
Now the good part...was the baby panicked, freakin out because of the dire conditions around her that all us adults realized??
Hell no...she was dancing in the carseat to the beep of the car alarm!! She said she was brave and it was an adventure!!

Now i’m thinking there’s some lessons in there for us all. Maybe we should take a lesson from a two year old and just calm the **** down during dire times.
Either that or drink the kool-aid.
Me...thank you Willow, i’m going back to my nap.
Be well and safe.
Bowen

Great story Bowen. I think it's a good lesson instead of drinking the kool-aid. Kool-Aid drinkers are a big pet peeve of mine, on either side of the aisle......

(Unless it’s Blue Raspberry).

Wearing the new Stylepark Templeform I got in late last week to the office today. Another great deal on a two-fer with a Lee for dirt cheap. They were very dirty and mangled but the Templeform is in perfect condition after pulling out the liner to wash separately, cleaning, steaming, and shaping, and a little ribbon repair.

This is some very nice felt, one of those ‘clay like’ felts that just molds to anything and you just want to pet and mold. The Lee will need a new sweat.

The drive to work today was very strange after our Shelter in Place order went into affect last night. In my 35 years of driving this same highway to the same job every day, I have never seen it like this in rush hour:

Beautiful hat Tim. Certainly these deserted streets are a bit eerie
