Matt I always said the same: this is one of my favourite homburg that lives in the USA and I don't know why:rolleyes:

I do not want to be repetitive so let's say, quietly, that it is another temptation that has gone

Charles Hatters High Quality size 60 cm. 7 17 "US

Color is "Mirtillo" and type "Ticino"

Plain felt in medium weight with raw brim and matching ribbon

The hat, like his brothers, is a product in which Borsalino's hand is evident. Certainly it was made by the Vanzina workers, both for the finishes and for the elements that recall the production of the subsidiary from Borsalino.

This is a recent addition, a custom prototype collaboration between a good hat friend and Bob Jessee at Black Sheep Hat Works. I believe the Borsalino western style hat that was used is 1960s vintage, but the felt is pure white gold as from an earlier time. I love how it retains its western vibe even with the addition of a dressy city ribbon.

Ooooh Nice! Love the color on this Strat Richard.

Great snag Jim! I always thought that the Imperials were high end with all the bells and whistles. This is more understated than I expected. Wonderful hat to be sure, I guess there were different trim levels on all the models across the board. Love that suede finish, must feel wonderful.

This is one spectacular hat Eric. Lots of brim and a wonderful finish. Envy...

That finish and ribbon treatment...drooool!

Halali? Interesting! Nice looking pair you got there Stefan.

Love me sum Pecan! It is such an interesting shade. Great Mike Miller creation.

The model name on this one is interesting. I sent an Airlite to Stefan a while back, I think it was a Champ. Smooooth looking hat.

Nice lines on this Melton Brent. Like the color too.

I am totally enamored with these Hanover Squares. This one is especially nice, deep rich color. Looks to be in great shape too. Nice one Bill.
Thanks Mike!
Maybe HCA was buying up cool model names as well as hat companies...

Nice Whippet Michael.
Thanks Red. I never seem to get it out on Wednesdays.

Homburg day for a trip to campus. Mid 1950s Mallory Ten in a nice tone of brown. One of my favorite American 'bergs. View attachment 141816 View attachment 141817
That is a fantastic color, Red. Wish I could find one like that around here. Pretty much nothing but black or grey to be seen.

Two hat day in blue. Mayser (made for Hut Seidl)

A pair of great blues there, Stefan.

Love the complete look!

Thanks Pathfinder. I really liked that tall crown job you were modeling yesterday, I think it was.

Michael your combination of jacket and sweater made me do a fantastic flip over time. The hat is merely an accessory in this case;)
Thanks Daniele. The jacket is some Harris Tweed, the coat is Austrian made Loden. And the shoes are Italian made Bally.

Wow, that is a fine Mirtillo. Wish mine was that bright. Your latest hats are really great.

Thanks all,

Hückel ultra velour hat made for the U.S. market. A little large for me at 7 1/4 but it's wearable on a windless day and a stunning example of how fine a post-war hat can be.

Wow, Alan! I love everything about that hat, the colour, the shape, the velour, the ribbon, the wind cord, and that bow is the absolute pièce de résistance. Thanks for sharing.

Alan @alanfgag — WOW! I had to go wash my hands before I scrolled the pics on my phone. You are obviously one of the good guys in that hat!

I wasn't able to get up and about today until later this afternoon. Grabbed the tweed jacket from yesterday and a hat I haven't been wearing as much as it deserves. Stetson late 50's - early 60s Sovereign Twenty with the sweet Mode Edge and some really wonderful dark brown, velvety felt. I generally like a wider brim than this 2-1/4" lid affords, but it's nice enough that I just don't care.

The felt easily molds to whatever shape a fella wants, but to my eye the classic center dent works best with this one. I have the front pinch at about 4-1/4" and keep it level with no rake. A superb hat, really, it fits just a touch loose at size 7-1/2 but feels real comfortable on the noggin'. I wish my pics showed the felt off better. It goes really well with the old copper wide ribbon.
