Thanks gentlemen.

I'm surprised at how much I dig a red... I mean a "pomegranate" (way to class up the lingo, Danielle) colored hat. I suspect that it is going to get a lot of head time. That $12.50 looks like $1,250.

Use to have a local guy that sold appliances, etc. Cash Amburgy of Cash's Big Bargain Barn. Would do ads on the UHF stations during Saturday afternoon movies. We all had someone like that in our area.

I once saw him do a commercial for appliances, and in describing one, he said, "And this comes in white, harvest gold, and avocado. Down home we call that green."

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Been under the weather the last couple of days. Must be the warm-up that's got me down.

Speaking of "weather"... This Weather Hat Company "Pikes Peak" homburg made by the late Art Henderson (I reckon in the '60s) in Colorado Springs, CO was on my doorstep this afternoon. It's a great piece of work.

I purchased the hat in an auction last March. I was a bit nervous about wearing the bold color and it had some condition issues, including what appeared to be dried glue spots on the brim that I couldn't do anything with. I sent the hat out to Bob at Black Sheep. He cleaned up the glue pretty darned well, blocked it, and gave it fresh trim and insides.

I am not dispeased with the results.

Now... Got some pages of hats to catch up on.

Enjoy.

Emanuel Gittel Wien probably early 1960s and recent arrival. I like the form of this hat.

Still haven't decided on what crease to give it, but this one will do for now.
Have a great day!

Nice snag John, that embroidered liner is a nice bonus. I like it, not so "western" of a western, I could wear this one.

Love the highlight in the bow. Art does super bows. What kind of a time frame did this one take?

Three months total. Art has someone else doing his refurbishment work; not sure if he's an employee or a subcontractor. In any case, the work was fine.

I was told the turnaround time is a lot less in the late spring and summer when felt hats are not being worn as much.

I should also tell you that I hold you partially to "blame" for the hat I just commissioned from Northwest. Enabler. :)
